I seem to be getting emails and winks... but when I try to look at the profiles of those that sent them, their profiles are hidden. I do not quite understand the point of this, If you are interested in me and send me winks or e-mails then hiding so that I cant read anything about you,How can you expect a reply. Are others experiencing this too?

unfortunately the wink has been a waste of time for most of us over the years I have been here. It means nothing more than you have been seen but most of the guys do not respond after the ladies take the time and trouble to write something personal. It is a shame but seems to be the way of winking; now a telephone call or direct e-mail are more productive by far. Good luck.

It's only bee a couple of days for me too, but it seemed that the profile dissapeared the next day, both form my list of favorites and the rest of the site

You aren't the only one. I have experienced is several times but only once have I asked for them to open up their profikle. We'll see if they do so, as it has only been a couple of days.
